The OLED iPhone 8 appears to be the most intriguing of the three new iPhones Apple is set to unveil in 2017. The device will have a nearly bezel-less display, with the Touch ID fingerprint button embedded into the OLED screen itself. Furthermore, the screen will supposedly have curved edges on both sides. Analysts already say the OLED iPhone 8 will be the most popular new smartphone to be released next year, with the entire iPhone 8 family expected to generate record sales for Apple in the second half of 2017.

Preparations are already in the works, The Korea Herald notes, citing local news outlet ETNews. Component suppliers are already beefing up supply for the next iPhone 8 handset. Korean suppliers Interflex and BH are apparently ramping up production of flexible printed circuit boards, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics in negotiations with Apple for the same parts.

The three firms are Samsung Display suppliers, which in turn will be the sole OLED display supplier for the iPhone 8 next year.

The first shipment of flexible printed boards should start in the second quarter of next year, with providers set to deliver from 60 million to 70 million parts in 2017 alone. The parts will be assembled at Samsung Display’s OLED module plant in Vietnam, the report says.

The report seems to indicate that Apple has decided on at least one iPhone design for next year. Recently, a Wall Street Journal report said Apple is testing several proposed designs for next year’s iPhone.
