Popular shoe and apparel company TOMS has introduced two new lines of Apple Watch bands. The two lines are the Utility Collection and the Artisan Collection, and are priced at $50 and $75 respectively.
Utility bands come in 6 colorways and feature premium, durable grosgrain fabric and genuine leather detailing. The Artisan bands come in just 4 colors and feature woven fabric and genuine leather backing.
As with other TOMS products, there’s a cool social responsibility focus with these bands. The company says that purchases will help support its partners SolarAir and Solar Sister, leaders in ending light poverty.
All TOMS for Apple Watch bands feature a “GIVE TIME” etching and a gold “TOMS” emboss, as well as genuine leather and stainless steel details for a timeless finish.
About 1.2 billion people lack access to safe, reliable electricity. Each band purchase will roughly translate into providing 1 year of solar light. Research suggests that having a solar light at home allows children to study for an average of 1 extra hour per night.
