How to use Tapbacks on your Apple Watch

Just like iOS 10 does for your iPhone, watchOS 3 allows you to send a Tapback to an iMessage received on your Apple Watch. Tapbacks are emoji-like symbols that you can attach to messages in a conversation to respond when a text response isn't really called for. Tapbacks include heart, thumbs up, thumbs down, Ha ha, !!, or ?.

Adding a Tapback to a message on your watch is easy. Just follow this guide and you'll master it in no time.

How to use Tapbacks on your Apple Watch

  1. Open Messages from the Home screen of your Apple Watch.
  2. Select the conversation in which you wish to send a message.
  3. Tap and hold the message bubble that you wish to Tapback.

  1. In the Tapback menu, choose from Heart, thumbs up, thumbs down, Ha ha, !!, or ?
