AppleCare/Troubleshooting
  • "iCal has been a disaster with Lion and Exchange servers. In Snow Leopard, if you have checked the 'Delete events XX days after they have passed,' it would send cancelled meeting note to everyone about meetings that occurred months ago. It made the Mac users the laughing stock of the company. We quickly alerted others to turn off the 'Delete events XX days after they have passed' on the iCal preferences. But, the damage was done with a few users. I have had the exact same issue occur with me. I double-click on the .ics file, change the calendar to my work (the default), and accept the invite. Nothing else. The result is that iCal sends a cancelation - the message says it is from the original organizer), from me to the entire distribution list. This is a critically bad bug in my opinion, which, of course, led to the usual 'it's a Mac thing' blame statement from all directions." MacInTouch 4:09 PM
