"Suddenly getting the message: Time Machine could not complete the backup. The back-up disk image '/Volumes//.sparsebundle' could not be accessed (error -1). It might be that the sparcebundle has become corrupted, or is on a disk sector that's going bad, or has had permissions screwed up in some way. I'd first check the Time Machine drive with DiskWarrior (Turn Time Machine off in System Preferences first). Another good tool is Smart Utility, which will show a failing drive with too many bad or reallocated sectors. The number you'd like to see is 0. Drives used for Time Machine will fail just like any other drive. If the drive looks good, I'd first save the old sparcebundle somewhere, then delete it from Time Machine and start over. ... I had same problem; the fix for me was to allow 'guest' access to my Time Capsule volume using the Airport Utility. I think the issue has something to do with the latest firmware update, but I have not had time to check this out. Anyway, Time Machine is now working fine for me again. HTH." MacInTouch 4:09 PM
