A fresh audit by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says the MTA last May allowed the California-based tech giant to set a daunting hurdle for rival bidders to clear in a tight, 30-day window — namely, that they be willing to front $5 million in cash."] New York Post 8:23 AM

"Another way to get out of 'Times New Roman' font hell, but also avoid messing with style sheets, is to enable the Develop menu. Then choose 'Open Page With' and choose an earlier version of Safari. The Appearance tab will be functional in that version. Change the default font(s) and Exit. When you relaunch Safari 6 it will remember the altered default font. If this is the case, then defaults write com.apple.Safari com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2StandardFontFamily 'Lucida Grande' in Terminal might work. It works on Safari 5 on Snow Leopard. (Sorry, no Safari 6 or Mountain Lion; I've become averse to the bleeding edge.) To set font size: defaults write com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2DefaultFontSize 13. Changing the fixed-width font is left as an exercise for the reader." MacInTouch 12:21 PM
